Abstract: This study investigates the benefits of outdoor learning environments in early childhood education (ECE). The objective is to explore how outdoor settings enhance sensory experiences, physical activity levels, and environmental awareness in young children. A survey research design is justified to gather data from 200 educators and parents in Imo State, using purposive sampling to include diverse perspectives on outdoor education and varying geographic locations. Findings reveal that exposure to natural environments and outdoor play spaces supports holistic development, including improved motor skills, creativity, and ecological literacy among children. Recommendations include designing accessible outdoor learning spaces, integrating nature-based curriculum elements, and advocating for outdoor play policies in ECE institutions to optimize learning and developmental outcomes.
